What Are Telecom Plates?

What are telecom plates? Custom telecom plates from ECA allow our customers to pick and choose which telecom connectors they require for installation in their desktop power data stations. Each plate is fully customizable allowing customers to choose the perfect combination of data, USB, or audio visual connectors to best accommodate each application’s individual needs. Customers with existing units and existing telecom plates can swap them out at a later time as their needs change.

RJ Connectors - The most popular RJ connectors are the RJ-45 cat6, used for data transfers and computer networking, and the RJ-11 cat3, used for hardwired phone connections. Both the RJ-45 and RJ-11 are available in a punchdown or inline version.

A/V Connectors - While there are many types of A/V connectors, the most popular are: VGA, HDMI, and Mini Stereo. Other less common types include RCA and Fiber Optic connectors. These connectors are available in inline versions that allow them to be easily integrated into applications with the use of a patch cord. Power data outlets that are installed in conference spaces or meeting spaces greatly benefit from a variety audio and video input and output options. Be prepared for visitors' notebooks and devices by including an appropriate number of A/V connector equipped telecom plates.

USB Connectors - USB connectors are becoming increasingly popular as they are used with cell phones, tablets, as well as other portable or mobile devices. ECA’s standard connector has an attached patch cord with male end for ease of installation. Upgraded 3.0 versions are also offered which transfer data from the source at a faster speed. An optional USB transformer plugs into a standard wall outlet as an easy alternative solution for USB charging applications.
